why there is controversy?
As, now India is ready to host the G20 summit in delhi but government has gotten new controversy over the "renaming" of India to Bharat. the controversy started when an invitation for G20 dinner sent out in the name of 'President of Bharat' instead of 'President of India'.
and on same day , a tweet by senior spokesman of ruling party (BJP ) ' sambit patra ' said modi was attending a summit of southern asian nations (ASEAN) in indonesia as " The Prime Minister of Bharat" .which trigger the controversy and rumor in the whole country . it may be rumor but it only confirm in Parliament special session by amendment in constitution.

history of word 'Bharat'
The name is a sanskrit word found in hindu scriptures which were written about 2,000 years ago. The name 'Bharta','Bharat' or 'Bharatvarsha' can be traced in the epic story of mahabharata or in vedic puranic literature. according to holy puranic literature Bharta is land between 'sea in south and abode of snow in north' which is streched beyond today's borders of india and may be extended to indonesia. whereas Hindustan means ( land of hindus) but word 'India' is popular in whole world.

The attack on word 'India' started when opposition coalition together as (I.N.D.I.A) " Pm Modi has given a statement that INC, and east india company was founded by foreign national . Today peoples are using names like Indian Mujahideen and Indian peoples front, he said '' union minister rajnath singh said " And what about situation of {INDIA} Naam bada,darshan chhota ,they have kept name India , but i would like to tell them , ye naam bahut khatarnak hai [ this name is very dangerous] .
The BJP has also renamed cities , palaces , and various places which were linked to mughal and britishers periods. such as 'Rajpath' as 'Kartavya path' and 'Mughal Garden' as 'Amrit Udyan' which is place in New Delhi
some reports also said that new names are attempt to erase mughals ,who ruled India for 300 years from Indian history
Roop Rekha Verma , professor of philosophy and also a vice chancellor of Lucknow University said in interview to different media agencies that " We have seen that there is continuous disagreement for constitution and supreme court . if supreme court gives an order and gov- doesn't like it .then order is changed,
" I can't say that what will happen next but i think this is because of the alliance that opposition has formed, but they have now set out to remove the name india as well''
Opposition reaction towards it
According to senior leader of congress shashi tharoor 'while there is no constitutional objection to calling India as 'Bharat ' . he hopes that government will not be so foolish to completely dispense with 'India' which has "incalculable brand value".
Mamta Banerjee, a top opposition leader said " we all say Bharat'. what is new in this ? ...what happened suddenly that the government want to change the name of country?"
BJP stand on word 'Bharat'
The BJP said that the word 'India' is a remain of country's colonial past.
Naresh bansal MP of BJP said " India' is a part of colonial slavery it should be removed from indian history ". according to him our country has been known by 'Bharat' for thousand of years .The name 'India' is given by colonial Raj and is a symbol of slavery.
As government has called a special parliament session on 18 sept in which government may announced their agenda regarding 'India' and 'Bharat '.
Is It Possible?
In our research we find that renaming of india to bharat is not possible .
main reasons-:
- on currency notes there is tag of RBI(reserve bank of india) to change its tag government needs to change all currency notes of country
- ISRO(indian space research organisation) to eliminate word india government needs to change its name from indian to (bhartiye space research organisation)
- SBI (state bank of india) ,Indian bank has also a tag of india .
- on aadhar cards & pan card & voter card there is a tag of India.
- on indian passport there is a logo of Republic of India.
- Also government required 66% majority in lok sabha to pass a bill related to this issue.
- whereas government has also launched various schemes on theme India.
